 COMMUNITY SERVICE

Small Projects with BIG Impact....What are your ideas?!

As we enter the Spring Quarter--yippee!!-- I am hoping to try a little something different with our Community Service! We will continue to provide support to the pregnancy crisis center for the first few weeks of April. See the needs list for that below. For the duration of the quarter, I'd like us do some small, one-time acts of service or supplies gathering for different locations that can really help them out. Is there a place that needs someone to plant flowers for them? Is there a Habitat house that could use a team of willing women to help paint on the inside one afternoon? Could the Lord's Diner benefit from a bunch of us each baking a batch of cookies and delivering them to cover the dessert down there for a few nights? These are just a few ideas that I have.... I would love to hear suggestions from you for a SMALL project that would make a BIG impact on a bigger endeavor or on an individual. Please email Angie with your ideas.

In the meantime, please continue to gather the following things for the Pregnancy Crisis Center: new gowns (newborn size), new boy's pajamas (size 12 & 18 mos.), new girl's pajamas (size 12 & 18 mos.), teething rings and other small baby toys, boppy pillows, shampoo, baby wash, lotion, similac or generic formula equivalent (powder), snuggli carriers, digital thermometers. Other items they are always in need of as well include: diapers, bottles, pacifiers, cups, spoons, blankets, and maternity and baby clothing (up to 24 month size).

I hope to be at a few events in early April where I can gather some of these items. Some of these are easy requests to fulfill.... when you are grocery shopping and buying your kids' shampoo, pick up an extra bottle. In the market for a new bottle or sippy cup? Pick up two of them!

I'd love to see this be a fabulous quarter for community service but I am going to need YOUR HELP!!! So please be ready to jump in when you see something on the loop, and don't forget to send me some "one-time" service ideas!
